God Hates Abortion

Matthew 2:16-18

#1) Herod Wormfood

So far in our study of Matthew, we have learned that Herod Wormfood was a bloodthirsty, violent, paranoid tyrant, willing to do anything he could to stay in power, and in our Verses this morning we see another tragic example. He killed off an entire generation of children in an attempt to kill Jesus. These children were Martyrs, and, like all of the only victims of abortion, we will see them in eternity. However, even though this was a despicable and wicked act, Herod was unwillingly and unknowingly, helping Jesus. Stay with me here. Because of the numerous Old Testament Prophecies surrounding the birth of Christ (Num. 24:17; Is. 7:14, 11:1, 60:3; Jer. 23:5; Mic. 5:2; Hos. 11:1; et. al) and without taking lightly the slaughter of the innocents at the hands of Herod…by the time Jesus had started His ministry in Judea, there simply wasn’t anyone else alive that could lay claim to fulfilling the words of the Prophets of old, in regards to where and when the Messiah was to be born.

God uses the free-will choices of the people He created, yes,

even their sinful choices to accomplish His will.

(Gen. 50:20; Acts 2:23)

While this truth alone, can be, and very well is, the subject of numerous Sermon’s and entire Libraries, there is more about Herod that we need to understand. Let it be said before moving on, that history is unkind to the enemies of God. Emperor Cesar Augustus, the head of the Roman Empire when Herod was ruling Judea, when he heard of the events that we read in our Verses this morning, said this: “It is better to be Herod’s pig than Herod’s son.” Such was the depth of this tragedy, and the indifference towards evil that was a hallmark of Rome; that Cesar himself, not caring for the loss of life, joked about the diet restrictions of the Jews.  In previous Sermons, we spoke of Herod killing his own sons, three of them; but he also killed one of his ten wives (Mariamne) and her brother and mother as well. At one point in his life, after a group of ten assassins tried to kill him, he publicly executed them and their families. “Wicked” does no justice to describe Herod, who, knowing his reputation amongst the people he ruled over, and that his death would be celebrated, ordered that upon his death a member of every family in Judea was to be killed to ensure that the entire country was mourning when he himself died. Fortunately, this order wasn’t carried out.

Now, lest we think this level of barbarity to be something that only existed in the Ancient World, one need look no further than the wickedness of the modern world.

• Under Roman rule, while the numbers are difficult to assign with precision, some estimates place the number of Christians murdered to be anywhere between 100,000 and up to 2 Million. This included being fed to Lions in the Coliseum; being sown into the skin of animals to be torn apart by dogs, crucified, or soaked in tar and set aflame as a streetlight.

• Starting in the 16th Century (1500s) and continuing into the 1830s, the “Barbary Slave Trade” saw Muslim pirates from Morocco, Algeria, Tunisia, and Libya, and other Islamic countires, kidnapp and sell up to 1.5 million Europeans, specifically targeting caucasian Christians. This practice, unfortunately, was nothing but a continuation of one that started in the 1360s; under The Ottoman Empire, Christian sons from 8 yrs old and up were kidnapped by Muslims, forced to convert to Islam through physical and sexual assault, and turned into a regiment in their Army known as “The Janissaries”. This continued until 1826 when The Janissaries were abolished by Sultan Mahmud II.

• In 1979, the Communist Party of Cambodia, the Khmer Rouge, led by the despot ‘Pol Pot’ and his belief that only “pure” people could lead the revolution against the current Constitutional Republic that ruled Cambodia, killed 2 million men women and children through direct executions, forced labor, and starvation.

• In 1994, in Rwanda, due to the rising ethnic animosity, a deep economic recession, as well as other factors, the “MRND” (National Republican Movement for Democracy and Development) killed up to 1 million men, women, and children; going so far as having Government sponsored radio stations calling for the Rawandans to kill their neighbors of a different ethnicity.

Like Herod before them, all Godless rulers have committed acts of horrendous violence against humanity. And like Herod, if they have yet to turn and repent of their sins, they too will meet the unstoppable justice of God as they are crushed for eternity under His holy gavel.

#2) It's all legal

The common truth running throughout all of these atrocities, including the massacre in our Verses this morning…is that they were all performed legally. Yes there were people who opposed them, the victims let their opposition be heard through their words and actions, but the truth remains, no laws were broken. Herod didn't break any law when he ordered the death of the innocents. The Government of Rome financed and protected the soldiers who did the killing for them in the First Century. The Islamic governments over the Barbary Slave Trade and Ottoman Empire…financed and protected the rapists and kidnappers. Regardless of the cries of opposition…no laws were broken. In fact, we could even say that because it was all legal, the victims were the ones who didn't want the laws to be followed. 

The perpetrators of these crimes that cause us to shudder,

weren’t simply law abiding citizens,  

they were financed and protected by their Governments.

Continuing to bring this truth closer to the present; the Governments of Portugal, Spain, Britain, France, the Netherlands, England, Denmark, and the United States -- all financed and protected the killers behind the transatlantic slave trade; and the National Socialist Party of Germany financed and protected the SS. Stated plainly: Every slave owner and every Nazi was paid for their work, while the laws protected them. It was the runaway slave who was breaking the law, not the plantation owner. It was the Tenboom family breaking the law, not the SS.

If morality is determined by the State, or even by the people, then nothing but genocide is on the horizon. Tragedy, death, genocide, and wickedness will always, without question, be the end result of the idea that human beings are nothing but the byproduct of time and chance acting upon matter. To believe that we are all some cosmic accident, will always lead to us ourselves determining what is right and what is wrong, and then legislating it into practice. We will create two, and only two, categories; one category (as seen in the transatlantic slave trade and Nazi Germany) will be considered “non-human”, which will simultaneously create another class of people who are allowed to commit violence legally. Any not within these two categories, must then choose a side.

And this, brothers and sisters, is the legal climate of 2025 America. We, as modern and far more advanced and ethically minded people than those barbarians who came before us (sarcasm!), have created a special class of people who are allowed to legally kill…with no repercussions. No Death Penalty, no jail time, no fines, warnings, or probation.

Mothers.

Every single mother in America, with no fear of charges being pressed, with no fear that the Police will knock on her door, or a warrant being put out for her arrest, is legally allowed to kill as many children as she wants. There is no limit. She is legally allowed to dissolve them with drugs she buys on the internet, or she is allowed to pay an assassin with a scalpel to do it for her from the sterile “safety” of a white-washed tomb, without breaking a single law. Furthermore, they are encouraged, endorsed, and congratulated as being brave for killing their child. They even have specifically trained accomplices to help them escort their victim into the closest Concentration Camp to their house, and then some of them go on to boast of their crimes on national television or social media. There are entire industries dedicated to hiding the bodies of their victims, and even they aren’t breaking any laws. 

Because we have a protected class of citizens that are above the law, the Statue of Liberty has the blood of an estimated 63 million children staining her hands since 1973, with the (unverified) numbers before that year adding to the total, and the numbers after 2022 (the overture of Roe V Wade) building it even higher. Meaning, that if we only use those numbers, (not taking into account the abortive murders from before or after Roe V Wade last week or last year), that since 1973 there were 3,304 murders per day, until today. That is about 1 abortion every 30 seconds.

In 2025 America, it is legal to kill a child so long as you are her mother.

While that truth is one that must be faced by every God fearing Christian who has ever drawn breath, it gets worse. Those numbers are simply from either surgical or medicinal murders…but when we add to it the children killed through IVF (In-Vitro Fertilization), the numbers skyrocket. According to one source (National Center for Biotechnology Information) between “2004–2013. A total of 1,808,082 non-donor embryos (using the sperm and egg from the perpetrators) were transferred in 748,394 fresh cycles resulting in 358,214 liveborn. That means 1,449,868 children were killed, and that is just from one reporting agency. When we add to this the literal thousand of IVF clinics across America, the number of the deceased is too high to wrap our minds around.

In fact, as if our society having a special class of people who the law doesn't apply to isn't heinous enough, the ‘results of conception’ are, quite literally, woven into the fabric of our society. Perhaps, given the reality behind “Operation Paperclip” (where the United States “rescued” Nazi Scientists after WWII, absolving them of their war crimes, and then paid them to do research for us), the lampshades of human skin they created in the 40’s were nothing but a precursor to the wickedness we are about to speak of.

While it is difficult to assign a firm number, sources from the CDC’s “Pink Book” (14th Edition, 2021) and The John Hopkins Institute for Vaccine Safety, say that up to 20% of all vaccines, in either their production or in the research to develop them, the cells from aborted children. Cell line PER.C6, taken from the eye of a child named Jordan who was aborted in the Netherlands in 1985 simply because his mother didn't want him, and frozen immediately thereafter, is currently used in the COVID Vaccine. 

Were this not enough, and I understand this is already a lot we have to struggle with, but before moving on to Point #3…more needs to be said. From numerous sources, the outright sorcery of using sacrificed children to improve quality of life goes far beyond Vaccines.

The Senomyx Corporation, a US based biotech company that designs food additives, while they don't include fetal cells in their products, they do however use them in part of the research process. Since the 1970s, they have used the above-mentioned Cell Line HEK-293 to create artificial taste buds to use in testing their witchcraft.

The cosmetic company Neocutis (owned by parent company Merz Pharmaceuticals), uses what is called “PSP” or “Processed Skin Proteins” from aborted children in their products: Bio-Gel Bio-Restorative Hydrogel; Journee Bio-Restorative Day Cream; Lumière Bio-Restorative Eye Cream; Bio-Restorative Skin Cream; Prevedem; Bio-Serum.

“The Lord is a man of war” (Ex. 15:3) and lest they turn and have the divine wrath they have earned accounted to Christ, which He is perfectly able to atone for, He will be taking white hot neon vengeance against every mother who has slain her son or daughter, the Doctors who were paid to perform it, as well as every individual upon whose hands the blood of the unborn cries out for justice against. 

To close this dark point, and move to one of unimaginable light; several so-called “Pro-Life” Organizations, and Legislators have either vocally opposed, or outright voted against Bills against the abolition of Abortion.

Until our King carries through with the words of 1st Corinthians 15:25 and adds abortion to the list of enemies beneath His feet, when it is fully criminalized and justice for the unborn is carried out against those that have performed it; we must continue steadfast to stand for justice and truth. We must put as much pressure upon our Legislatures as legally possible. We must stand outside of those Concentration Camps and Plantations. We must reveal the offer of forgiveness to the killers, and we must be in endless prayer for our Nation.

#3) Why Jeremiah?

To close our Sermon this Morning, let us look at Verse 18 in the text. We read these words from Matthew → “A voice was heard in Ramah, Lamentation, weeping, and great mourning, Rachel weeping for her children, Refusing to be comforted, Because they are no more.”. With another one of his “Fulfillment Formulas”, Matthew is quoting the prophet Jeremiah, from the 15th verse  of the 31st Chapter of his book.

Because all of Scripture is God-breathed (2 Tim. 3:16), inerrant and infallible (not only is it never wrong, it is unable to be wrong), we must look at what Jeremiah was witnessing when the Holy Spirit inspired him to pen these golden words, and then ask why The Holy Spirit then inspired Matthew to quote them?

Jeremiah 31 as well as the rest of his book, is a warning and a description of the Babylonian Captivity. Jeremiah had been warning the Israelites over and over again to return to God. To stop worshipping false gods, to stop sacrificing their children, to turn from their wicked ways. He was thrown in prison, mocked and attacked, but through all of it God gave him the strength to continue. But, and we all know the story, Israel didn't listen. Warning after warning came to this Nation through the mouths of God’s children, and warning after warning…they ignored.

Woe to the Nation whose god isn't God.

Woe to the Nation stained with the blood of their young.

It was there at Ramah, a hilltop around 5 miles from Jerusalem, in Jeremiah 40, that Nebuzaradan the Captain of the Babylonian Guard gathered the Israelites to begin their march into captivity. They would have seen the fires of God judging their Nation; the smoke of His indignation would have filled the sky as the Israelites helplessly watched. And it was there at Ramah, thousands of years before Jeremiah was ever born, that Rachel, mother of two of the Tribes of Israel, and symbolic of all of them, was buried. 

Through poetic words from God, Jeremiah is personifying Rachel’s tears as she witnesses the wrath of God fall on her people and her children being taken away. There was lamentation, weeping, and great mourning, because the exile of the children of Israel was tangible and visible proof of the Judgement against the Nation.

When Matthew quotes this to describe Herod’s legal slaughter of the innocents, then, we can very easily understand that when the children of a Nation are ritualistically and legally brought to destruction, the terrifying judgement of God is close enough to see. 

Because Children are the future of any Nation, 

when they are met with blades and blood,

that Nation will soon come to an end. 

However, as I promised earlier, the unimaginable brightness of the end of this Sermon can be seen by taking another look at Jeremiah. Like Joseph before him, and Jesus after him, Jeremiah was saved from the danger in Israel, and ended up in Egypt (Jer. 43). We read this in Jeremiah 40:2-4 → “ And the captain of the guard took Jeremiah and said to him: “The Lord your God has pronounced this doom on this place. [3] Now the Lord has brought it, and has done just as He said. Because you people have sinned against the Lord, and not obeyed His voice, therefore this thing has come upon you. [4] And now look, I free you this day from the chains that were on your hand. If it seems good to you to come with me to Babylon, come, and I will look after you. But if it seems wrong for you to come with me to Babylon, remain here. See, all the land is before you; wherever it seems good and convenient for you to go, go there.”

As we close, it must be said that this verse in Jeremiah 31 (v.15) that Matthew quotes, soon gives way to the prophetic promise of the New Covenant, where the unchangeable, unstoppable standard of all goodness and truth, God Himself, will dwell eternally intertwined with the very souls of His people, in Verses 31-34 →

“Behold, the days are coming, says the Lord, when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah— [32] not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day that I took them by the hand to lead them out of the land of Egypt, My covenant which they broke, though I was a husband to them, says the Lord. [33] But this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, says the Lord: I will put My law in their minds, and write it on their hearts; and I will be their God, and they shall be My people. [34] No more shall every man teach his neighbor, and every man his brother, saying, ‘Know the Lord,’ for they all shall know Me, from the least of them to the greatest of them, says the Lord. For I will forgive their iniquity, and their sin I will remember no more.”

Though darkness had its day, and the waves of night washed over Nations and people, that day was broken by the dawn of Jesus Christ. A shot of silver light pierced through the darkest clouds that Satan could gather, and the Living Word; The incarnate King of the Cosmos, Jesus Christ; conceived by The Holy Spirit, born of the virgin Mary, who suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and buried; descended to hell, and rose again from the dead on the third day; who then ascended to heaven, where, here and now, He is seated at the right hand of God the Father almighty; …came to Earth. It was through His shed blood that peace with God was bought. It was through His broken body, His stripped back, and His crown of many thorns, that He paid in full the price demanded of His father for the sins of all who will ever repent and believe. 

And it is there, at the right hand of His Father, the position of authority and power, with His royal robe draped over the edges of ever expanding space and entire galaxies as rings upon the fingers of His nail marked hands, where, beneath His feet, lay the tattered and broken remains of His enemies. It is a pile ever-expanding, ever-growing, and He will add to it the disgusting, vile, wicked, barbarous, violent, dark, ancient and putrid practice of abortion. And when the mound of His enemies is almost complete, with only one remaining, He will add to the final enemy, death itself, then He will return to claim His pure and spotless Bride.

Then comes the end, when he delivers the kingdom to God the Father after

destroying every rule and every authority and power. For he must reign until

He has put all his enemies under his feet.

The last enemy to be destroyed

is death.
