Salt, Light, & Glory - Part IV

In our final message on the “Salt & Light” verses this morning, we will be taking what we have discussed so far (even from The Beatitudes) and then applying it to a larger scale.

In Part I we discussed that our faith can not be “only belief” or “only action”; but that our “good works are the unavoidable and automatic outworkings of (y)our redeemed heart.”

In Part II we talked about the children of God being the “means” that He uses to bring His other children that have not yet come home, to Him. It was here where we saw that the ultimate goal of life is to live it, in every aspect, for the glory of God.

In Part III last week, we discussed that Christ uses metaphors in general to expose our need to be like Him in relation to His omniscience; and how the specific metaphors of “salt” & “light” were used to show the effect that the Christian has on the World He placed them in.

When God accounted the punishment our sins deserved to His Son (2 Cor. 5:21), killing Him in our place (Is. 53:6), we were made righteous and innocent in His eyes, and made to be the salt of the Earth and the light of the World. What’s important to always remember, in regards to these verses, is that they are a declarative statement about who we already are. Because of what Christ has done and will continue to do, our God glorifying lives push back the darkness, and both preserve and enhance the world around us.

So now, here in Part IV, we are going to ask how far out does this reach. Christian parents push back the darkness in the lives of their children and grandchildren, of course. But what about ten generations later? Will the preservation power of the salt of the earth run out after that? Will entire nations be affected? What about humanity as a whole? Will the darkness win the battle against the light here and now…inside of time?

Matthew 5:13-16

Opening Prayer

As we move into applying these verses to a larger scale to see if Scripture makes any claims about the world being affected by the people of God; we need to be keenly aware of three different dangers. The first of which is the beginning of last Week’s Sermon.

Danger #1:

Our innate desire to know more and more about God, having been corrupted by the Fall yet sanctified by The Spirit…must always be bound to Scripture. Yes, debate and question and argue and reason until you find the truth, and do it while standing upon the only unmoving foundation in a fallen world. If we ignore those words for our words, or ignore what is plainly seen within its pages, for what is plainly seen in the world around us, the saltiness of the children of God will inevitably come into question. If we take what we see in the culture as our evidence to say that the salt and light will stop preserving or illuminating, then we are using the World to understand Scripture…instead of using Scripture to understand the World.

Keep your desires to know everything firmly in check, brothers and sisters, because the deeper you dive into Scripture, the more and more it will surface. The more you hear about this or that Doctrine, the more questions will arise, prompting you forward. And at a certain point, different for every person, you will come to a conclusion about this or that Doctrine.

But what it all comes down to…is you.

Do you want to know God more? Are you settled with what you know, and are seeking how to apply it all to your life? Most importantly, does what you believe about God land inside the pages of Scripture?

Where do you stand within the confines of

what Scripture teaches?

In the divine omniscience of God, knowing how The Fall would corrupt this aspect of our nature, He inspired Scripture to be written in such a way that it is simultaneously shallow and deep. Holding up the primary Doctrines a new heart gladly accepts as true, while hiding those our new heart wrestles over; God ensured that His children will always be fed without ever running out of food, and no matter their appetite. Prov. 25:2 says it this way → “It is the glory of God to conceal a matter, but the glory of kings is to search out a matter.”

Knowing our voracious desire to know more about Him, God gave us 66 divine books that are, to quote Jerome: “...shallow enough for a babe to come and drink without fear of drowning and deep enough for a theologian to swim in without ever touching the bottom.” God has concealed aspects of reality from the human heart and mind, because He designed us to search for them.

Time-Out

Now, before moving on to the second danger, it would be very easy to take this truth from Proverbs 25:2, and blow it out of proportion. In fact, many in History have already done so. “If God doesn't plainly tell me everything I need to know to be saved, but instead conceals it, then that isn't a God worth worshipping.” However, the only way to make such a claim would be to ignore that the entirety of Scripture teaches that salvation is not the end result of an intellectual pursuit. “Thinking the right things about God” is not how one is saved. “Checking the right belief boxes” while skipping over the others…does not pay the price your sins have earned you; it's the other way around. When your sins are accounted to Christ, then you will think rightly. 1st Cor. 2:14 says it this way → “But the natural man does not receive the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him; nor can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.” (emphasis - mine) When God saves someone through no intellectual effort of their own, then, and only then, will they believe what the Bible teaches.

Time In

All in all, the first danger that arises when we talk about the degree to which people of “salt” and “light” preserve, enhance, and illuminate the world around them, is the desire to know everything.

When verse 15 says that we are salt…what is that we preserve and enhance? Our relationships? Our culture? Our Nation? The Church? All of humanity? What about verses 14 & 15? What are we illuminating? The verses are plain that we preserve, enhance, and illuminate…the whole World.

So…we have the “what”, and it's the World. Now, how about the “when”?

When verse 16 says that people around us who see our good works will glorify God…is there a time-limit? Was He only speaking about that one generation there on the Mount? What about now, in 2026? Will people still glorify God, here and now, when they see Christians being “salt” and “light”? Do the current-day hordes of rainbow pagans and pages of redacted documents somehow nullify the words of God? Can the white-washed tomb in Washington negate what Christ Himself said?

Was the declarative statement from Christ that we will preserve and enhance the world that we illuminate only true…up until a certain point in time? If so, when is that, and where in Scripture does it teach it?

Can you defend what you believe about Scripture,

based on nothing but Scripture?

God gave us a new heart, and we now believe all the primary Doctrines of Scripture. And likewise, because God gave us a heart able to do so, we wrestle over the others.

Danger #2

The second danger that comes up, related to the first, is the by-product of ignoring why we believe in the first place.

Before He gave us a new heart, the only thing we believed about God was that we were guilty in His eyes; and then, in His good timing, decided upon by Him, with no outside influence from anyone, but in accordance with His own will, He saved us (Eph. 1:11).

Our salvation (I’m repeating myself!) had nothing to do with checking the “right belief boxes”; which even the demons have checked off (James 2:19); but because God acted when we couldn't. Plainly stated, we believe because of God…not us.

Now, lest we think that disagreements over Doctrines are something only plaguing the modern Church; we believe the right things, they believe the wrong things; this was happening even within the New Testament. In Paul’s first letter to Corinth, after rebuking them for refusing to be humble and urge one another deeper into Scripture; but instead were boasting over what they believe in opposition to others…within the same Church; he wrote this in 1st Corinthians 4:6 & 7 → “Now these things, brethren, I have figuratively transferred to myself and Apollos for your sakes, that you may learn in us not to think beyond what is written, that none of you may be puffed up on behalf of one against the other. [7] For who makes you differ from another? And what do you have that you did not receive? Now if you did indeed receive it, why do you boast as if you had not received it”

When it comes to a Doctrine that God He has performed a Prov. 25:2 concealment of, and we land in an understanding different from those around us…be humble. Be humble, because the only reason you believe to begin with, is because of Him. You, in and of yourself, were not able to think and reason and come to an understanding of God beyond your ability to hate Him; so what makes you think that any Doctrine is different?

Did He bless you with a mind capable of going through complex teachings with ease? Thank Him for making you that way. Do you struggle and fight to wrap your mind around anything beyond the eternal damnation He saved you from by dying in your place? Thank Him for making you that way.

You see brothers and sisters, these areas of Doctrine that God has left room for us to disagree over; should humble us at the same time they encourage us. We should be humbled because we have seen the limits of our understanding, and we should be encouraged because it means we can know more about Him.

Danger #3

To briefly speak on a third danger that arises when considering the effect that people of salt and light have on the World; we need to mention that we will be going into the territory of adiaphora. This is a category for things in Scripture that fall outside of the essential, fundamental elements of the faith, so long as they don't compromise the Gospel.

Stay with me here.

A good example, but not the focus of today’s Sermon, is Communion. The Bible clearly teaches that believers ought be partaking in the Lord’s Table in 1 Cor. 11:23-26; with Christ using the same illustration in John 6:53 when He says → “...“Most assuredly, I say to you, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink His blood, you have no life in you.” So… we know that a heart that has been replaced by God will hold this belief.

However, Scripture is silent about other aspects of it. How often should a Church join together at the Lord’s Table; Weekly? Monthly? Is juice acceptable? Or does it have to be wine? Why or why not?

It is these secondary details of a primary Doctrine, that are adiaphora. It is within this “layer” where we find room for disagreement, debate, humility, encouragement, and growth.

However, and here is where the danger comes in, when considering a “secondary” Doctrine that is not fundamental to the faith (Creation; Sola Fide; the Deity of Christ; His Return; et al.), the reason why you land where you do…is fundamental to the faith.

What I mean is this: Do you believe that Communion ought only be held with actual fermented grapes? Why or why not? Is it because you have spent time digging through The Bible, listened to preaching after teaching, and wrestled yourself into submission to Scripture? Or is it “just because”? Or maybe, it's not something you had considered before, so now you will be going to Scripture, listening to teachings and Sermons, and then comparing them against the Word.

The same can be said across every Doctrine. Do you believe what you believe about Baptism; the Gifts of the Spirit; or the End Times…because it was taught to you, and you never questioned it? Or because you did question it, compared it to Scripture, dug deep, and then came to a conclusion?

A desire to know what God has to say is a primary Doctrine of Christianity,

because if you don’t…it is evidence that your heart still hates Him.

Now, to add some grace; there is a common mentality amongst Christians wherein they elevate people to the degradation of themselves. They say things like: “Those are the smart people, the extra-holy; but me, I'm a nobody. A pew warmer. I’ll leave the learning to them.”

While it remains true that God has gifted some people in ways that He has not others, it is also true that that same God lives equally within both of you.

He gave you, no matter how smart or stupid you may think yourself to be; a reasoning, thinking, debating mind, for the purpose of glorifying Himself when you use it.

Ask big questions, think hard; and when you reach the end of what you're able to do, go to others who God has allowed to do more…and then compare it all to Scripture.

The effect of Salt and Light

Now, keep all of this, everything we have discussed already, firmly in your hand as we move forward. When Jesus describes what citizens of His kingdom are like in The Beatitudes, He immediately moves into our verses. So…who will preserve the World from the decay it tends toward? The poor in spirit peacemaker. Who pushes back the darkness by their good works? Those who mourn over their sin from the depths of their purified heart.

The kind of lives that we live, changes the world, brothers and sisters.

As we have said the past few weeks, everything about you is woven through with divine intention. He on-purpose made you the way He made you (Ps. 139:14); intentionally placed you in your family, community, church, and nation (Acts 17:26; 1 Cor. 7:17; Rom. 13:1); and predestined to save you based on His own will and purposes (Eph. 1:5).

And when He did; when He replaced your heart of stone with one of flesh (Ez. 36:26), you breathed for the very first time, cried out in grief over your sin, and the righteousness of Jesus Christ was applied to you as your death was applied to Him.

And that kind of person; having been intentionally made, placed, and saved in the ‘where’ and ‘when’ God decided upon; carries out the meek and mournful peacemaking acts of mercy of their pure hearts; thereby changing, preserving, enhancing, and illuminating that very same ‘where’ and ‘when’.

To repeat something from two weeks ago; it is no coincidence that your family is in the state it's in, with you being part of it. It was not beyond His sight that America would be unraveling, while you are a citizen within her porous borders. He knew how this Church, Christ Community, would exist, before the beams that hold our roof in place were saplings, and then placed you in our pews. Nothing was beyond His sight my friends. He saved you on purpose to enhance and enlighten your family and Church; to preserve Clyde-Savannah; and to push back the darkness that so threatens America.

So the question is…to what degree?

Will the sinful tendencies passed down to you…affect your great-grandchildren?

Will Clyde, NY succumb to the swells of apathy, and become a ghost town?

Will the empty pews in this Church remain empty till our doors shut for the last time?

Will America fall to the liberal perversion of the pedophiles in power?

Will we fail, or continue, to preserve and illuminate the entire World till Christ returns?

To ask that another way; and bring the first half of the Sermon back to mind; is The Church doomed to failure this side of eternity? Are our good works; that Christ Himself says are the reason why people glorify Him; nothing but the polishing of brass on a sinking ship? Stated plainly; will Christianity grow or shrink? Will the Gospel be stopped from going forward before Christ returns?

Do we win down here,

or do we lose?

You might already have an answer to that question this morning, and it might be what you have always believed for your entire life. Furthermore, you might even be able to defend it against any questions to the contrary…which is good!

Or, you might have an answer to what you have always believed…but can’t defend it. Maybe you haven't given much thought to it since we went through the Series on Eschatology two years ago, and it collected some dust.

Or maybe you haven't really landed anywhere at all. You've heard all the arguments, listened to preachers on every side, and stretched your heart upon the pulleys of Scripture to “see where you land”...but you were overwhelmed, confused, and landed nowhere but trusting in the righteousness of God given to you by the blood of Jesus Christ.

All of which are a Scriptural position to take in terms of Eschatology.

What isn't Scriptural, however, is never reading; never learning; never questioning; and never growing; because only dead things don’t grow. Only dead things don't get stronger. A living heart, indwelt by The Spirit of God, will never gloss over the things that God has to say.

And…thats the key to it all.

It’s not: “What does the current cultural climate of my nation look like?”

It’s not: “What do I see on the news that I can use as evidence to say that the end of the World will look like this and not that.”

It’s not: “What good can I do in a World like ours?”

Does the Bible have anything to say about the preservation power given to the children of God, doing something to the World around them? When societies and nations are built; when villages, towns, and governments are established; does Scripture have anything to say about how they are built?

Habakuk 2:12-14 → “Woe to him who builds a town with bloodshed, who establishes a city by iniquity! [13] Behold, is it not of the Lord of hosts that the peoples labor to feed the fire, and nations weary themselves in vain?”

Cities and societies such as those are wearing themselves in vain, because → [14] …the earth will be filled with the knowledge of the glory of the Lord, as the waters cover the sea.”

People of salt & light, living where & when God places us; building cities, starting schools and Churches, establishing Godly governments, subverting tyrannical ones, mourning over our sin, making peace, carrying out acts of mercy, and letting everyone around us know the price of their sins and the God who can forgive them; means that the Gospel will never stop growing to the point that it fills the entire Earth, just like the water covers the sea.

_____

That, brothers and sisters, is what it all comes down to.

If you have watched the news in the past Month, and were appalled by what you saw; be it wicked and evil the likes of which you thought only existed in works of fiction; or a lack of self restraint being encouraged by those with the power to influence…look for solutions, of course. Point out the sin, and look for ways to work against it, of course. But if the foundational solution upon which all of the others are built isn't the public proclamation of the Gospel, then you will be let down over and over again.

It is the Gospel going forth into realms of political power, that will bring about change.

It is the truth of who Jesus Christ is, who we are in comparison, and what God alone did about the differences; being openly proclaimed in homes, businesses, museums, schools, and stock markets; that pushes back the curse, thereby preserving all of them.

It is the truth of God’s moral law that shines a light on the darkest deeds of man, no matter how deep in the dark they have hidden them. No matter the layer upon layer of political or militaristic power they conceal their deeds with, the Gospel can not be stopped.

The Roman Empire couldn't kill us into its extinction; the USSR couldn't keep it contained in their gulags; and the American experiment won't be able to vote it into oblivion.

It was the Gospel going forth from the abolitionists that brought about the end of legal slavery; and it won't be long before the same thing happens to legal abortion.

If you want homo marriage to end, stop trying to use the government that allowed it to begin with, and hold your leaders accountable to the Gospel instead of the Constitution.

Only a heart change in individuals can bring about a national or societal change; and as Scripture teaches, laws can't change hearts…even if they are Godly laws. (Rom. 7:7-12)

Putting all of your hope upon the only one capable of changing hearts, and then telling people about Him, is what it means to be salt & light. To let the rich treasuries of the Gospel pour forth from your hands and mouth; because He is the only one who can change a heart of stone to one that preserves, enhances, and illuminates the world.

“But…what about the devil? Won't he act to try and stop such a thing from happening? And furthermore, isn't he strong and powerful?”

Yes, he will try to stop it. Of course.

Yes, he is strong and powerful. Of course.

But God is stronger. In fact, after the Pharisees accused Him of working for Satan when He was casting out demons, He says this in Matthew 12:28 & 29 → “But if I cast out demons by the Spirit of God, surely the kingdom of God has come upon you. [29] Or how can one enter a strong man’s house and plunder his goods, unless he first binds the strong man? And then he will plunder his house.”

Speaking in metaphors to expose their need to know everything, Christ explains that He is going to bind Satan and plunder every single one of His children from under his control, without exception. Then…He did.

Six days before His crucifixion, He said this in John 12:27-32 → “Now My soul is troubled, and what shall I say? ‘Father, save Me from this hour’? But for this purpose I came to this hour. [28] Father, glorify Your name.” Then a voice came from heaven, saying, “I have both glorified it and will glorify it again.” [29] Therefore the people who stood by and heard it said that it had thundered. Others said, “An angel has spoken to Him.” [30] Jesus answered and said, “This voice did not come because of Me, but for your sake. [31] Now is the judgment of this world; now the ruler of this world will be cast out. [32] And I, if I am lifted up from the earth, will draw all peoples to Myself.” [33] This He said, signifying by what death He would die.”

Then, at Golgotha, upon a Roman Cross; the Son of God and Son of man; Jesus Christ; King of kings and Lord of lords, was killed. All the powers of darkness crashed against the only innocent man to ever live; yes. But…this was nothing shy of God using everything in all of reality to carry out His will. They meant evil towards Christ, but God meant it for good.

Christ crushed Satan on the cross, used his own power against him to pry the world he was once the ruler of away from him, then bound him, and has been plundering His children out from under his helpless eyes ever since.

“But…there's still war! And death! The wicked flourish while the righteous suffer!”

There is, yes, but it's not because of the devil, it's because of sin.

James 4:1-7 → “Where do wars and fights come from among you? Do they not come from your desires for pleasure that war in your members? [2] You lust and do not have. You murder and covet and cannot obtain. You fight and war. Yet you do not have because you do not ask. [3] You ask and do not receive, because you ask amiss, that you may spend it on your pleasures. [4] Adulterers and adulteresses! Do you not know that friendship with the world is enmity with God? Whoever therefore wants to be a friend of the world makes himself an enemy of God. [5] Or do you think that the Scripture says in vain, “The Spirit who dwells in us yearns jealously”? [6] But He gives more grace. Therefore He says: “God resists the proud, but gives grace to the humble.” [7] Therefore submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you. [8] Draw near to God and He will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners; and purify your hearts, you double-minded. [9] Lament and mourn and weep! Let your laughter be turned to mourning and your joy to gloom. [10] Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and He will lift you up.”

Do you want bad moms to stop being legally allowed to murder their own children?

Do you want the gays to stop mutilating the children they groom?

Do you want the den of vipers in D.C. to be held accountable?

Then see that The Father sent The Son to destroy the works of the Devil (1 John 3:8); that The Son sends us just like His Father sent Him (Jn. 20:21); and then resist the Devil and he will flee from before your forward facing feet.

So now, when people of salt and light go about their life, living out the contents of their redeemed hearts; acting because they believe; every edifice of the enemy will fall.

Every ungodly institution, ancient or modern; every wicked Nation, powerful or weak; every sinful business, rich or poor; every Godless school, Government or private, will be crushed to rubble beneath the feet of Him walks across the seas.

The entire Earth will be filled with the knowledge of God, and it is going to happen before He returns to claim His Bride.

Again, this may be a teaching you haven’t heard before, or have heard but disagree with…but what does the Bible say?

In 1st Corinthians 15:24 & 25, Paul says this → “Then comes the end, when He delivers the kingdom to God the Father, when He puts an end to all rule and all authority and power. [25] For He must reign till He has put all enemies under His feet.”

Under the infallible inspiration of the Holy Spirit, Paul is quoting an Old Testament verse that the authors of the New Testament quote more than any other. Psalm 110:1 → “The Lord said to my Lord, “Sit at My right hand, Till I make Your enemies Your footstool.”

So when Stephen was being killed, and crying out “Look! I see the heavens opened and the Son of Man standing at the right hand of God!” (Acts 7:56) We can know that the prophecy of Daniel 7:13 & 14 was completed at the ascension of Christ. → “I was watching in the night visions, And behold, One like the Son of Man, Coming with the clouds of heaven! He came to the Ancient of Days, and they brought Him near before Him. [14] Then to Him was given dominion and glory and a kingdom, That all peoples, nations, and languages should serve Him. His dominion is an everlasting dominion, which shall not pass away, And His kingdom the one Which shall not be destroyed.”

Who is going to serve the Son of Man when He ascends to the right hand of His Father?

Where is the Son of Man right now?

Daniel prophesied that His kingdom can never be destroyed, and in one of the verses we already looked at together, Matthew 12:28 & 29, Jesus said → “But if I cast out demons by the Spirit of God, surely the kingdom of God has come upon you.”

The kingdom of God is here and now,

and it can never be destroyed.

Be bold, brothers and sisters! Speak the Gospel to everyone in your life. Let the light that shines forth from you carry the salt of your redeemed heart deep into enemy territory!

Pray for the end of homo marriage, then take action because of your beliefs.

Preach against the coming muslim hordes, then let your light shine.

Weep over the travesty of abortion, then take action because of your beliefs.

Press the crown rights of Jesus Christ into the halls of political power, no matter how entrenched they are, refusing to bow to the Christless conservatives who co-opt our name.

And when the smell of their rot singes your nostrils; when another news story breaks darker than the one you're still trying to wrap your Christian mind around; when the nations rage, people plot in vain, and all of their rulers join together against the Anointed One, seeking to cast His rule and reign from themselves (Ps. 2)…double down.

Spend even more time in your Bible.

Pray longer.

Preach louder.

Because He who sits in the heavens shall laugh at them. And then ridicule them. And then speak to them in His wrath, telling them that Christ is still their King, they still owe Him their allegiance, and there is nothing they can do about it. (Ps. 2)

Every time you act like the person Christ says you already are; in the everyday mundane actions of life in a fallen world; or in the grand and glory-filled words and actions of your entire life; you are advancing an unstoppable Kingdom.

Every time you act merciful because Christ showed you mercy; make peace because of the peace that Christ made between you and Himself; mourn over your sin, feed the hungry, and love your enemy; every piece of art you create or tear that falls on your shoulders; every time you fill your righteous chest with psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs side by side with one another; take of the Lord’s Table; open your Bible; hold Family Worship; and repent toward those you have sinned against…you are influencing the people in your life for the better.

You are preserving, enhancing, and illuminating the World.

You are directing the course of human history towards the purposes of Him who directs your steps. And you will be successful, because Jesus Christ Himself said so.

In Matthew 16:18, He tells Peter that the confession of Jesus Christ as the Son of the living God is the rock upon which He will build His church…and that the gates of Hell can not prevail against His Church.

Brothers and sisters, “gates” are defensive.

Meant to keep us out.

Charge those black gates you saints!

“Take no part in the unfruitful works of darkness, but instead expose them. For it is shameful even to speak of the things that they do in secret. But when anything is exposed by the light, it becomes visible, for anything that becomes visible is light. Therefore it says,

“Awake, O sleeper, and arise from the dead, and Christ will shine on you.” Look carefully then how you walk, not as unwise but as wise, making the best use of the time, because the days are evil. Therefore do not be foolish, but understand what the will of the Lord is.” (Eph. 5:11-17 esv)

In closing, one last final truth. While it is true that the Kingdom of Heaven spreads in the same way that leaven spreads through a loaf of bread, leaving no corner of it untouched (Luke 13:20-21)...sin acts in the same way (Gal. 5:9).

Wanting nothing more than to be God, our sinful nature continually prompts us to usurp His throne and do what only He can.

Just like the Gospel is going to grow, consuming and destroying any nation or peoples that stand against it…your sin will do to you. Do you have unrepented, unsanctified sin, swimming through your soul? I pray not, because it is going to continue to grow the longer you refuse to confront it.

If you wrestle over these verses we have spoken on this morning, and come to accept that the Church does indeed win down here; and then begin to act because you believe it…without deep and totaling repentance; you will do immense harm to those in your life, and the world, and be good for nothing but being thrown out and trampled underfoot by men.

_____

Look to heaven, children of Clyde-Savannah, children of New York, children of America; “For unto us a Child is born, unto us a Son is given; and the government will be upon His shoulder. And His name will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. Of the increase of His government and peace there will be no end, upon the throne of David and over His kingdom, to order it and establish it with judgment and justice From that time forward, even forever. The zeal of the Lord of hosts will perform this.” (Is. 9:6&7)

Do you belong to Jesus Christ? Are your sins washed white by His red blood? Then repent of them all; take comfort that He will never abandon you and He will never abandon us, as He alone causes His government to never stop increasing.
