WORSHIP
From start to finish, everything we do on a Sunday Morning is Worship. The reading of the Word, the Sermon, the taking of the Lord’s Table, and the singing. All of it is explicitly Worship, aimed upward. It must be said, however, that there is something mystical and unable to be quantified about Music. Music existed before Creation (Job 38:4-7), and there is Music in Heaven (Rev. 5:9). Music has a specific, heavenly-designed way of reaching into our Soul.

All through Scripture we see commands to sing together, Ps. 100:1-2, Ps. 105:2, & Eph. 5:19 to name a few. We can sing in times of trouble (Ps. 137:1-4), we can sing to boast of God (Ps. 105:2), or to thank Him for all He has done in our life (Ps. 30:12). In every situation, in every thought, there is a song to be sung and a melody to be had.

Here at Christ Community Church, we use the Hymnal, ‘Hymns of Grace’ from Grace Community Church in Sun Valley, CA. We also, from time to time, like to sing songs that aren’t included in ‘Hymns of Grace’, so we included them here in a booklet you can find in your Pew.

“Make a joyful noise to the Lord, all the earth;
break forth into joyous song and sing praises!”
Psalm 98:4 (esv)
