DECLARE

“For you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Walk as children of light (for the fruit of the Spirit is in all goodness, righteousness, and truth), finding out what is acceptable to the Lord. And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather expose them.” Ephesians 5:8-11

We will evangelize against any and all works of darkness that are present in this age, be they in ourselves, our homes, our careers, our culture, or our government.

The Gospel is not good advice to be tucked away for the religiously inclined, or a suggestion to consider if you want a happy and blessed life. It is the power of God unto salvation. It is the news that all of us have sinned and fallen short of the glory God, and God, being patient and just, did what we could never do and fulfilled the righteous requirement of the Law for us. It it is the good news of salvation to be proclaimed to all people.

When we repent of our sins and believe in Jesus Christ,

He is faithful and just to forgive us of those sins, because He Himself

took the punishment from His Father that was reserved for us.

To declare the Gospel is to openly herald the message of Christ crucified and risen. Like Paul, we preach “Jesus Christ and Him crucified” (1 Corinthians 2:2), knowing that God saves through the foolishness of what is preached (1 Corinthians 1:21). This declaration of the God who saves sinners is not limited to the pulpit, it is the calling of every Christian. Everyone within whom God has placed a heart that loves to love Him, has an obligation given to them from Heaven to speak the truth of Christ in their homes, workplaces, neighborhoods, political infrastructure, and to the ends of the earth.

We are not ashamed of this message, because it is the only hope for a dying world. We declare the Gospel because we burn with a holy urgency to see sinners reconciled to God through the blood of His Son.

A silent Church

is a faithless Church.

To declare the Gospel is to boldly speak the truth of Christ crucified and risen, not only to those who don’t yet believe, but also to fellow Christians and even to our own hearts. We need the Gospel every day. The lost need it to be saved. The church needs it to be strengthened. We ourselves need it to be reminded of grace, lest we drift into pride or despair.

Declaring the Gospel is not a one-time act, it is a lifelong calling that interacts with and motivates every area of our life. With urgency and joy, we proclaim the only hope this world has: Jesus Christ, the Son of God, slain for sinners and risen in glory.

Declaring the Gospel requires courage, because it confronts pride and exposes sin. It will be mocked, resisted, and rejected. Yet it is the only message with the power to bring life from death. “How are they to hear without someone preaching?” (Romans 10:14). Every single Christian is a herald of God, calling all people everywhere to repent and believe.

We declare the Gospel of Jesus Christ by proclaiming the truth of who He is and what He alone has done in our World.
