1) Positive Confession - We can speak reality into existence.

Phineas Quimby: (mid 1800s) “New thought” - whatever you think about or speak, you will draw it to you.

Benny Hinn → “I am speaking something into existence”

Creflo Dollar →  “As spiritual beings who possess the nature of God, we have the ability to speak things into existence just like God did.”

Gloria Copeland (Ken’s wife) - “You are the one with authority over the weather”

• Rebuking tornados (Jesse Duplantis, Benny Hinn, all say the same thing)

Joel Osteen → (Read Luke 1:1-20 first) “Why did God take away his speech? It’s because God knew that Zechariah’s negative words would cancel out His plan. See, God knows the power of our words. He knows that we prophecy our future. And He knew Zechariah's own negative words would stop His plan.”

• “If you develop an image of success, health, abundance, joy, peace, happiness - nothing on Earth will be able to hold those things from you.” - Your Best Life Now

• “You can speak your reality into existence.”

1.1) This is a perversion and distortion of God’s ability to create “Ex Nihilo” in Genesis 1.

And what Satan tempted Adam & Eve with in Genesis 3:5 - “You will be like God.”

2) Healing

Kenneth Hagin → “No believers should die until their 120 yrs old” (He died in 2003 at 86 yrs old)

Benny Hinn / Kenneth Copeland / Bill Johnson → “It is always God’s will to heal”

Bill Johnson → “Everyone who came to Jesus, He healed” (2nd Cor. 12:8&9 God didn’t heal Paul of his thorn in the flesh)

Joel Osteen → “Isaiah 53:5 says, "Jesus carried our sickness and took our infirmities.". He already paid the price. It's not faith to pray "if it is Your will.". You have to have the boldness to say, "God, I know it is Your will.". That Scripture goes on to say, "By His stripes you were healed.". Jesus took those stripes before He was crucified.”

• 1st peter 2:21-25 - “For to this you were called, because Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that you should follow His steps: 22 “Who committed no sin,Nor was deceit found in His mouth”; 23 who, when He was reviled, did not revile in return; when He suffered, He did not threaten, but committed Himself to Him who judges righteously; 24 who Himself bore our sins in His own body on the tree, that we, having died to sins, might live for righteousness—by whose stripes you were healed. 25 For you were like sheep going astray, but have now returned to the Shepherd and Overseer of your souls.

2.1) If you aren’t being healed, it’s because of unforgiven/unrepentant sin or even a curse

Bill Johnson → “All lack of healing is on our end” Marci Neumire → “Your children died because of an ancestral curse on your family.”

John 9:1-7 - “Now as Jesus passed by, He saw a man who was blind from birth. 2 And His disciples asked Him, saying, “Rabbi, who sinned, this man or his parents, that he was born blind?” 3 Jesus answered, “Neither this man nor his parents sinned, but that the works of God should be revealed in him. 4 I must work the works of Him who sent Me while it is day; the night is coming when no one can work. 5 As long as I am in the world, I am the light of the world.” 6 When He had said these things, He spat on the ground and made clay with the saliva; and He anointed the eyes of the blind man with the clay. 7 And He said to him, “Go, wash in the pool of Siloam” (which is translated, Sent). So he went and washed, and came back seeing.

3) Abundance / Wealth

Joel Osteen → “All of us are born for Earthly greatness. You were born to win. God wants you to live in abundance. You were born to be a champion. He wants to give you the desires of your heart. Before you were born, He prepared us to live abundant lives, happy, healthy, and whole. But when our thinking becomes contaminated it’s no longer in line with God’s words.”

• “Get your thinking positive, and He will bring your desires to pass. He regards you as a strong, courageous, successful person. You're on your way to a new level of glory.”

• The same man whose Church hid $600k in their walls after committing fraud and saying it was stolen.

Kenneth Copeland → “A man’s harvest in life depends entirely on the seed he sows—not the government, not the company he works for, not his ministry. We each determine our income by the seeds we sow.”

• The same man who told people who lost their jobs during the quarantine to continue to give him money

• “God told me I need a private jet”

Joyce Meyers → “God wants to bless us with possessions and material wealth.” & “God doesn’t intend for us to struggle financially.”

1st Timothy 6:6-10 - “Now godliness with contentment is great gain. 7 For we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain we can carry nothing out. 8 And having food and clothing, with these we shall be content. 9 But those who desire to be rich fall into temptation and a snare, and into many foolish and harmful lusts which drown men in destruction and perdition. 10 For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil, for which some have strayed from the faith in their greediness, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.

Matt. 19:16-26 - “Now behold, one came and said to Him, “Good Teacher, what good thing shall I do that I may have eternal life?” 17 So He said to him, “Why do you call Me good? No one is good but One, that is, God. But if you want to enter into life, keep the commandments.” 18 He said to Him, “Which ones?” Jesus said, “‘You shall not murder,’ ‘You shall not commit adultery,’ ‘You shall not steal,’ ‘You shall not bear false witness,’ 19 ‘Honor your father and your mother,’ and, ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ ” 20 The young man said to Him, “All these things I have kept from my youth. What do I still lack?” 21 Jesus said to him, “If you want to be perfect, go, sell what you have and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven; and come, follow Me.” 22 But when the young man heard that saying, he went away sorrowful, for he had great possessions. 23 Then Jesus said to His disciples, “Assuredly, I say to you that it is hard for a rich man to enter the kingdom of heaven. 24 And again I say to you, it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God.” 25 When His disciples heard it, they were greatly astonished, saying, “Who then can be saved?” 26 But Jesus looked at them and said to them, “With men this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.”

4) Little Gods

Creflo Dollar → “You are gods (little g) because you came from God. You aren't just human. The only human thing about you is the body you live in. “The real me is just like God”

Kenneth Copeland:

• “You don’t have a God in you, you are one.”

• “I was shocked when I found out who the biggest failure in the Bible actually is...The biggest one in the whole Bible is God...I mean, He lost His top-ranking, most anointed angel; the first man He ever created; the first woman He ever created; the whole earth and all the fullness therein; a third of the angels, at least - that's a big loss, man....Now, the reason you don't think of God as a failure is He never said He's a failure. And you're not a failure till you say you're one.”

• “I say this with all respect so that it don't upset you too bad, but I say it anyway. When I read in the Bible where Jesus says, 'I Am,' I just smile and say, 'Yes, I Am, too!'”

Kenneth Hagin: → “The Christian is just as much an incarnation as was Jesus of Nazareth.”

Steven Furtick → ““I’m not in covenant with a person, I’m not in covenant with a political party, I’m in covenant with God almighty, I am God almighty.”

Jesse Duplantis → ““God has the power to take life, but He can’t. He’s bound. You are the one who decides when you die.”

• They teach that Adam was a literal reproduction of God

  • Adam lost his deity and transferred his godhood to satan, and because of this God lost His legal right to earth, He has no access to Earth.

  • Meaning satan is the legal god this world

  • When someone is saved, they regained their godhood

    • Which is where they get their belief that a god can’t be poor or sick (health and wealth are just ramifications of the “little gods” doctrine)

5) The person of Jesus Christ

Joyce Meyer: → “Jesus stopped being the son of God // Jesus was born again // Jesus paid for our sins and hell (it wasn't finished on the cross) // Jesus went to hell in our place and was tormented // If you don’t believe Jesus went to hell, you cannot be saved

Kenneth Copeland: → “Jesus existed only as an image in the heart of God, until such time as the prophets of the Old Testament could positively confess Jesus into existence through their constant prophecies”

Steven Furtick → “Jesus broke the law for love”

Creflo Dollar → “And somebody said, ‘Well, Jesus came as God!’ Well, how many of you know the Bible says God never sleeps nor slumbers? And yet in the book of Mark we see Jesus asleep in the back of the boat…Jesus came as a man, and at age thirty God is now getting ready to demonstrate to us and give us an example of what a man with the anointing can do…Y'all please listen to me, please listen to me. This ain't no heresy. I’m not some false prophet.”

Kenneth Copeland → (from a prophecy where Jesus was speaking to him) “Don't be disturbed when people accuse you of thinking you are God…they crucified Me for claiming that I was God. But I didn’t claim I was God. I just claimed that I walked with Him and He was in Me. Hallelujah. Thats what you're doing.” 

Larry Huck & Paula White “Jesus is not the only begotten son of God. He is the first of many.”

Bill Johnson → “Jesus laid His divinity aside to show what normal Christians can do”

Victoria Osteen → “Jesus was man, until God touched him and put the spirit of God in the inside of him.”

Joel Osteen → (In response to a question about other religions going to hell) “I don’t know if I look at it like that…”

Jesus’ death on the cross was not enough

He went to hell, suffered, died spiritually, and ceased to be God. And then Jesus had to be reborn.

This is where the REAL atonement took place.

Not on the cross, but in hell.

Where do they get these teachings? →

God told me

Joyce Meyers → The Bible can’t even find any way to explain this. Not really. That is why you have got to get it by revelation. There are no words to explain what I am telling you. I have got to just trust God that he is putting it into your spirit like he put it into mine.”

Kenneth Hagin → Claims Jesus appeared to him on 8 different occasions, talked to him, and even asked for his permission to act.

Victoria Olsteen:

“I just want to encourage everyone of us to realize when we obey God we’re not doing it for God. I mean, that’s one way to look at it. We're doing it ourselves. Because God takes pleasure when we’re happy. That’s the thing that gives him the greatest joy this morning. I want you to know this morning just do good for your own self. Do good cuz God wants you to be happy.. When you come to church when you worship him you’re not doing it for God really. You’re doing it for yourself because that’s what makes God happy. Amen?”
